Auction streaming with
low-latency playback
Connect your RTMP or SRT feed to the WebRTC add-on and deliver video to the bidder’s browser. Test actual delay together with your bidding platform before the auction: playback alone does not synchronize participants or determine when a bid is accepted.
With 8 seconds of delay,
the lot is already sold
Standard HLS slices video into multi-second segments and the player builds a buffer before playing. That is perfect for mass audiences, but in an auction it means the remote bidder hears "going once, going twice" when the hammer has already fallen in the room.
WebRTC avoids HLS segmentation and can reduce playback delay. The result depends on the complete delivery path. Your bidding platform must define deadlines, bid confirmation and awards; video does not guarantee equal timing for people in the room and remote bidders.
Site reference figures, not per-viewer promises. One channel can deliver WebRTC to bidders and HLS to the rest of the audience.
From the auction room to the bidder's browser
You do not change how you produce. The camera and encoder keep publishing over RTMP or SRT; XtreamCast receives the signal and serves it over WebRTC to bidders and over HLS to those who only watch.
- 01 Get a video plan and enable WebRTC The add-on is selected at checkout or enabled by support on an existing channel. Each auction room is one channel: if you run three rooms at once, you need three channels with WebRTC.
- 02 Publish from the room with your encoder OBS, vMix, Wirecast, a hardware encoder or LiveU send the signal over RTMP or SRT using the address and credentials from the panel. SRT is included and protects the leg from the room.
- 03 Embed the WebRTC player in your bidding platform The panel provides the channel WebRTC playback address and a compatible player. You embed it on the page where the bidder bids, over HTTPS and with a user play action.
- 04 Test the full path before the auction Compare a visible clock in the room with what a bidder sees on a phone and on a computer. Repeat on the real networks of your bidders and keep the HLS URL ready as a backup.
What is underneath, in one line
WebRTC costs USD 20 per month per channel.
WebRTC is not included in video plans: it is an add-on on top of the channel plan. No invoice surprises: a fixed monthly price, with no per-viewer or per-minute playback charges.
- Added to any paid video plan (from USD 25/month).
- Billed per channel: each simultaneous auction room is a channel with its own add-on.
- Keeps RTMP/SRT ingest and the channel standard HLS URL.
- The free plan lets you validate your encoder, connection and player; WebRTC is an add-on for paid plans. To rehearse it before your first auction, talk to a specialist.
Where a second
decides the sale
These auction formats need latency and participation rules to be evaluated before opening bids to remote participants.
Vehicle and machinery auctions
Lots that close in seconds and bidders following several rooms at once. WebRTC lets them follow lot status with less buffering; the bidding platform must confirm whether an offer arrived before the deadline.
Judicial and pawn auctions
Public processes with strict timing rules. Test video delay alongside platform rules and define the recording and retention needed for the process.
Art and collectibles auctions
Bidders in other cities or countries bidding by phone or web. Real-time video accompanies the bid and carries the tension of the room.
Livestock and agricultural auctions
Fairs with hundreds of lots over long days. One channel per ring, with the general public on HLS and registered buyers on WebRTC.
Real estate auctions
Few high-value lots and measured bidding. Every second of delay is money: the remote bidder needs to see the same bid the room sees.
Auction houses with their own streaming
If you already have a bidding platform, embed the WebRTC player in it and keep your registration, deposit and award workflow.
WebRTC is video, not the bid
Your bidding platform defines deadlines, confirmations and tie-breaks. Video accompanies the decision; it does not replace or record it.
Bidders on WebRTC, audience on HLS
WebRTC is designed for high-value interactive groups. For thousands of viewers who only watch, use the HLS URL of the same channel.
Test on real networks
Corporate networks, VPNs and some firewalls block media traffic. Rehearse with the devices and networks your bidders will use.
Visible clock and HLS backup
Measure delay with a clock on camera and keep the HLS player ready as plan B. HLS availability does not imply automatic switching.
What WebRTC does,
and what you must solve
The channel video plan plus USD 20 per month for the WebRTC add-on. Paid video plans start at USD 25/month. The total and conditions are confirmed at checkout.
There is no maximum latency established per viewer. The animation timings are illustrative. Measure capture, encoding, network and playback with a visible clock using your bidders’ devices and connections, and validate the rules and timing of your bidding platform.
Yes. XtreamCast delivers real-time video and the embeddable player; bidder registration, bids and awards are handled in your platform or your auction house platform.
Yes. Each room is an independent channel with its own ingest, player and statistics. The WebRTC add-on is enabled per channel, so three simultaneous rooms need three channels with WebRTC.
Use the standard HLS URL of the same channel, included in the plan and built for mass audiences. WebRTC provides a lower-latency path for bidders, subject to measurement and their connection conditions.
The free plan does not include WebRTC: it lets you validate your encoder, connection and player with your own workflow, no card required. WebRTC is an add-on for paid plans; to rehearse it before the first auction, talk to a specialist.

Choose channel features and capacity
Included in Started+, Pro+ and Max+
RTMP/SRT ingest, HLS output, branded player, up to 10 restream destinations, Recording Cloud, Live Editor Pro and a VOD library. Everything is configured from the panel, within your plan transfer and storage.
Video add-ons
Live Station: USD 10/month per channel. ABR transcoder: USD 20/month. WebRTC: USD 20/month. Global CDN: USD 20/month. They are enabled per channel; on Enterprise+ they are defined in the proposal.
Custom projects
Projects with DRM, SSO, EPG or your own apps: we assess them with an expert. SecureToken, geo-blocking and player domain restriction come with the panel, and the player embeds in the platform where your users sign in.
Started+ begins at USD 25/month with 1 TB of transfer and 5 GB of storage; Pro+ and Max+ go up to 3 and 6 TB. No automatic overage charges: we notify you at 80% and 100% of your transfer and you can add capacity instantly from the panel, prorated. For 24/7 feeds, size with headroom or move to Enterprise+, with transfer from 100 TB/month defined in the contract. Transfer policy (Terms, section X)
