Cache, route and recovery

Segment cache
The PoP fetches each HLS segment from the origin and serves it from cache to every viewer in its area, while the live manifest refreshes every cycle.
Delivery route
Each viewer downloads from a PoP of our CDN providers, and the PoP only requests from the origin the segments it does not have cached yet.
Recovery at the origin
Continuous origin monitoring detects a frozen engine or HLS session and restarts it with no manual intervention. Your encoder reconnects on its own and the CDN picks the segments up again.
