Professional Streaming Server with RTMP, HLS and a global CDN
XtreamCast is an all-in-one managed streaming server to run live streaming and video on-demand at scale. You send the feed from OBS, vMix, Wirecast or a hardware encoder via RTMP/RTMPS; we handle the ABR transcoding, the HLS/LL-HLS distribution, cloud recording, restreaming to YouTube/Facebook/TikTok and 24/7 human support. No VPS, no Nginx-RTMP, no DevOps.
- 99.99% uptime SLA
- 15+ years operating worldwide
- <55 ms latency from Bogotá
- 24/7 human support
What does our streaming server include?
Unlike running your own RTMP server on Nginx, where you manage the VPS, the CDN, the transcoding and the recording separately, XtreamCast is a complete stack in a single panel:
- Multi-protocol ingest: RTMP/RTMPS (the OBS/vMix standard), SRT for unstable mobile feeds and WebRTC/WHIP on plans with the add-on for ultra low latency. Compatible with OBS Studio, Streamlabs, vMix, Wirecast, Larix Broadcaster, GoCoder and hardware encoders like Teradek, AVMatrix or BlackMagic ATEM Mini.
- ABR transcoding: your feed comes in at one quality and goes out at 240p, 480p, 720p and 1080p simultaneously, so every viewer gets the one their connection can handle (adaptive bitrate streaming). 4K available on Enterprise+.
- HLS / M3U8 / LL-HLS output: playable in any browser (no Flash), Smart TVs, Apple TV, Roku, mobile apps and IPTV software. No plugins.
- Automatic cloud recording: every broadcast is saved with optional automatic publishing to YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo.
- Multichannel restream: up to 10 simultaneous RTMP destinations (YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, X, Kick, LinkedIn Live and two custom).
- VOD library: your recordings are organized, indexed and playable on demand. Live Station combines VODs into a lineup for a 24/7 channel.
- White-label player: an embeddable HTML5 player with your logo, colors and domain. No third-party watermarks. WebVTT captions, basic DRM and JavaScript events for your own analytics tracking.
- Multi-region CDN: presence in North America, South America and Europe. PoPs where your audience actually is.
- 24/7 human support: WhatsApp, email and tickets. A technical team available 24/7, in English and Spanish.
Latency by use case
Choosing the right protocol matters. If you stream a mass or a class, standard HLS is more than enough. If you stream an auction or e-sports, you need WebRTC. Quick guide:
| Use case | Recommended protocol | End-to-end latency |
|---|---|---|
| Masses, services, conferences | Standard HLS | 6–8 s |
| Live classes (universities) | Standard HLS | 6–8 s |
| Corporate events | Standard HLS | 6–8 s |
| Concerts and festivals | Standard HLS | 6–8 s |
| 24/7 TV channels | Standard HLS | 6–8 s |
| Sports with a scoreboard | LL-HLS | ~3 s |
| Interactive quiz shows | LL-HLS / WebRTC | 1–3 s |
| Live auctions | WebRTC | < 1 s |
| Professional e-sports | WebRTC | < 1 s |
| Live betting | WebRTC | < 1 s |

| ABR resolutions | 240p · 360p · 480p · 720p · 1080p · (4K Enterprise+) |
| Ingest bitrate | No cap (1–25+ Mbps typical) |
| Output formats | HLS (.m3u8), LL-HLS, DASH (Enterprise+), WebRTC (add-on) |
| VOD storage | 5 GB · 20 GB · 100 GB · 1+ TB (Enterprise+) |
| Player | Native HTML5, white-label, WebVTT captions, basic DRM |
| SLA | 99.99% contractual with automatic credits |
The ABR transcoder (adaptive bitrate streaming) generates several qualities in parallel from a single ingest. The player picks the one that best fits the viewer's connection and switches in real time as the network varies. This reduces buffering on the mobile and unstable connections common in live audiences.
Managed streaming server or your own RTMP server?
It's the question we get the most. The honest answer depends on the size of your audience and how much time your team can dedicate to operating infrastructure.
| Criterion | Your own RTMP server (Nginx) | XtreamCast (managed) |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended audience | <200 concurrent viewers | No viewer cap |
| Real monthly cost | VPS $20–80 + CDN $30–300 + DevOps time | From $25/month all included |
| Multi-bitrate transcoding | Manual with FFmpeg, eats server CPU | Enableable add-on, dedicated CPU |
| Cloud recording | You have to set up S3/storage and rotation | On by default |
| Restream to YouTube/Facebook | Separate module, manual configuration | Up to 10 destinations from the panel |
| Monitoring and SLA | You build it yourself (Grafana, alerts, on-call) | 99.99% contractual SLA |
| Time to first stream | Hours or days | ~5 minutes |
If you're interested in setting up your own Nginx-RTMP for learning or because of a specific constraint (internal network, compliance), we published a step-by-step guide on how to set up your own RTMP server (in Spanish). For everything else, managed is cheaper and keeps your team focused on content.
What makes a live streaming server professional
- 99.99% contractual SLA: less than 53 minutes of downtime per year. If we fail, there are automatic credits.
- Automatic failover: if a node goes down, traffic is rerouted without interrupting the broadcast.
- 24/7 monitoring: internal dashboards track every active stream. If your bitrate drops, we see it before you do.
- Human support on WhatsApp: you write and an engineer answers, not a bot. Average first-response time during business hours: <30 min.
- 15+ years operating: XtreamCast is operated by STREAMINGHD, continuously in the market since 2011. You've watched the industry grow with us.
- No technical lock-in: standard formats (RTMP in, HLS out). If you decide to migrate to another platform, your workflow requires no rewrites.
How to compare the live streaming servers on the market
Not all live streaming servers are equivalent. When evaluating options —managed or self-hosted— it pays to look beyond the monthly price and compare what actually keeps a broadcast running in production:
- Real measured capacity, not theoretical: many live streaming servers publish maximums that don't survive a real audience peak. Ask for proven concurrent capacity.
- Latency per region: wherever your audience is, latency from the origin to nearby PoPs matters more than any generic benchmark.
- Support in your language and time zone: when a stream fails live, minutes count. 24/7 human support is the difference between a scare and an outage.
- A cost model without surprises: review bandwidth overage, transcoding charges and per-restream-destination fees before signing.
We did that work for you: we compared the main streaming servers in Latin America and detailed the criteria for choosing a professional live streaming server (both in Spanish).
Start streaming in 4 steps
- 1. Create your account. TestDrive+ plan free for 3 days, no credit card required. The panel generates your RTMP server URL and stream key immediately.
- 2. Connect your encoder. Paste the URL and key into OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast, Streamlabs or your hardware encoder. Recommended bitrate: 3.5 Mbps for 720p, 6 Mbps for 1080p.
- 3. Start broadcasting. As soon as you send the feed, the public HLS URL goes live. Share it as a link, embed it on your site or use it from apps.
- 4. Enable restream (optional). If you want the broadcast to reach YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch or LinkedIn Live at the same time, configure each destination once in the panel and the platform forwards automatically.

About 5 minutes. When you create your account you immediately get your RTMP server URL and stream key. You paste them into OBS Studio, vMix or Wirecast and start streaming. The public HLS URL goes live as soon as you send the feed.
H.264 reference: 720p at 30 fps uses 2.5–4 Mbps; 1080p at 30 fps uses 4.5–6 Mbps; 1080p at 60 fps uses 6–9 Mbps. Your upload speed should be at least double your chosen bitrate to leave headroom. If your upload is unstable, consider SRT bonding with a backup 4G modem.
With the Restream feature you send a single ingest to up to 10 simultaneous RTMP destinations: YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, X, Kick, LinkedIn Live and two custom RTMP endpoints. You configure each destination once with its credentials and enable it with a toggle on each broadcast.
Yes. Every broadcast is recorded automatically. You connect your YouTube/Facebook/Vimeo channel once, set the privacy (public, unlisted or private) and each new video publishes on its own. Ideal for churches, online classes and recurring events.
With the Live Station feature: you upload your videos to the panel, organize them into a playlist or scheduled lineup and the system plays them continuously. Whenever you want to go live, you connect your encoder and the transition is instant. Ideal for regional TV channels, online radio and themed channels.
You copy the iframe snippet from the panel and paste it into your site, Moodle, Canvas, Google Classroom, WordPress or wherever you need it. The player is white-label (your own logo, colors and domain), supports basic DRM, WebVTT captions and JavaScript events for analytics tracking in GA4 or Mixpanel.
Multi-layered: SecureToken™ SHA-256 with IP validation, Domain Guard™ FNV-1a that blocks embedding on unauthorized domains, geo-blocking, signed JWT tokens, basic DRM and an HLS manifest protected against scraping. All included at no extra cost.
We notify you when you reach 80% and again at 100%. We don't charge surprise overage fees: if you go over, you can upgrade to the higher plan on a prorated basis or wait for the next cycle. If you have bandwidth to spare, you can downgrade. No lock-in.
Real time: concurrent viewers, output bitrate, stream health and drops. Historical: total views, watch time, geolocation by country and city (GeoIP), devices and browsers, traffic sources and per-session engagement. Exportable as CSV/JSON.
Our support team assists you with the migration for free: we import channel configurations, equivalent RTMP keys, existing VOD content and the player template. We run a parallel dual broadcast for 48 hours until we confirm parity before cutting over from the origin.
24/7 support in English via WhatsApp directly to engineers, email and tickets. Average first-response time during business hours: under 30 minutes. We actively monitor every production stream: if your bitrate drops, we usually see it before you do.
No. We use standard formats: RTMP/RTMPS/SRT on ingest and HLS .m3u8 on output. Your HLS URLs can keep being served from another provider with the same workflow. We help you export your VOD library in MP4/HLS if you decide to migrate. No technical lock-in.
