How does it work?
Recording Cloud records your live broadcast directly on the server. Recordings are stored in the cloud and you can download them, delete them or convert them into On Demand content.
Recording Controls
The panel offers three control buttons when your channel is live:
| Button | Function | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Start Recording | Starts recording the broadcast in progress | Channel live and not already recording |
| Stop Recording | Stops the active recording | Recording in progress |
| Split Recording | Saves the current recording and starts a new one without interrupting. Useful for splitting into segments. | Channel live and recording in progress |
⏱ Note: Recording starts from the moment you press the button, not from the start of the broadcast.
Managing Recordings
Recordings appear in a paginated list with a search box. Each recording shows:
- Name (editable)
- Duration
- File size
- Start date
- Status:
- Recording — Recording in progress
- Processing — The server is processing the file
- Ready — Ready to download or use
- Error — There was an error during the recording
Available actions:
- Preview: Plays the recording directly in the panel
- Edit name: Renames the recording
- Download: Downloads the file to your computer
- Delete: Removes the recording from the server
Automatic Recording Scheduling
The "Schedule Recordings" button (calendar icon ) opens the scheduling modal. It lets you automate when a recording starts and ends.
Individual Scheduling
- Click "Schedule Recordings"
- In the "New" tab, enter a name
- Select the start date and time
- Select the end date and time
- Configure the advanced options (see below)
- Click create
Bulk Scheduling
The "Bulk" tab lets you create multiple scheduled recordings over a date range:
- Define a date range (start and end date)
- Define a name prefix for the recordings
- Add one or more time blocks (start time → end time). Each block applies to every day in the range.
- Configure the advanced options
- The system shows a preview with the number of recordings that will be created
Advanced Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Wait for live signal | If enabled, the recording waits for the channel to be live before starting. If disabled, the recording tries to start immediately. |
| Wait time | Maximum minutes the system waits for the live signal before cancelling the recording. |
| Auto-cancel on failure | Automatically cancels the recording if there is an error when starting. |
Schedule History
The modal's "History" tab shows all schedules with two sub-tabs:
- Scheduled: Recordings pending execution
- Past: Recordings already executed, completed, failed or cancelled
Schedule statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for the scheduled date/time |
| Active | Recording in progress |
| Completed | Ran successfully |
| Failed | There was an error (the reason is shown) |
| Cancelled | Was cancelled manually |
Actions: cancel (pending schedules) and delete.
Storage
The panel shows your channel's storage usage:
- Space used vs. total space available according to your plan
- Recordings consume space from the allocated storage
- If space runs out during a recording, it stops automatically
- The system validates the available space before starting a recording
Converting to On Demand
Recordings can be converted into On Demand (VOD) content. The auto-upload system can automatically send recordings to:
- XtreamCast: Publishes to your VOD library inside the panel
- YouTube: Uploads to your YouTube channel
- Facebook: Publishes to your Facebook page
Tip: Configure auto-upload from the "On Demand" tab so recordings publish automatically.
