How to Stream with LiveU

LiveU is the leading solution for live broadcasts from the field using cellular connection bonding. Learn how to configure your LiveU to stream to XtreamCast.

What is LiveU?

LiveU is a professional system for broadcasting from the field. It uses bonding technology that combines multiple connections (4G/5G, WiFi, Ethernet) into a stable, reliable link.

  • LiveU Solo: Compact encoder, HDMI connection to the camera
  • LiveU Solo PRO: With SDI and higher bitrate
  • LiveU LU600 / LU800: Professional broadcast units

Step 1: Get the stream credentials

  1. Log in to your Control Panel
  2. Select your channel and go to the "Stream Data" tab
  3. Select "LiveU" in the software selector
  4. When you select LiveU, the panel shows the RTMP URL with the credentials embedded. You will see a green message: "The credentials are integrated into the server URL".
  5. Copy these 2 values:
    • RTMP Server URL — it already includes username and password in the format rtmp://username:password@server:1935/app
    • Stream Key
Note: LiveU uses credentials embedded in the URL, just like vMix and DJI. You don't need separate username/password fields.

Step 2: Configure LiveU Solo

  1. Access the solo.liveu.tv portal with your account
  2. Select your LiveU Solo unit
  3. Go to SettingsStreaming Destinations
  4. Select "Custom RTMP"
  5. Configure:
    • RTMP URL: Paste your RTMP URL (it already includes credentials)
    • Stream Name/Key: Paste your Stream Key
  6. Save the configuration

Field tip: In areas with limited coverage, drop to 720p and 2,000-3,000 Kbps. Stability matters more than resolution.

Step 3: Start streaming

  1. Connect your camera to the LiveU via HDMI (or SDI depending on the model)
  2. Turn on the LiveU and wait for a stable connection (green LEDs)
  3. From the solo.liveu.tv portal or the app, press "Start"
  4. Verify in your XtreamCast panel that the channel shows "Live"
