What is LiveU?
LiveU is a professional system for broadcasting from the field. It uses bonding technology that combines multiple connections (4G/5G, WiFi, Ethernet) into a stable, reliable link.
- LiveU Solo: Compact encoder, HDMI connection to the camera
- LiveU Solo PRO: With SDI and higher bitrate
- LiveU LU600 / LU800: Professional broadcast units
Step 1: Get the stream credentials
- Log in to your Control Panel
- Select your channel and go to the "Stream Data" tab
- Select "LiveU" in the software selector
- When you select LiveU, the panel shows the RTMP URL with the credentials embedded. You will see a green message: "The credentials are integrated into the server URL".
- Copy these 2 values:
- RTMP Server URL — it already includes username and password in the format
rtmp://username:password@server:1935/app - Stream Key
- RTMP Server URL — it already includes username and password in the format
Note: LiveU uses credentials embedded in the URL, just like vMix and DJI. You don't need separate username/password fields.
Step 2: Configure LiveU Solo
- Access the solo.liveu.tv portal with your account
- Select your LiveU Solo unit
- Go to Settings → Streaming Destinations
- Select "Custom RTMP"
- Configure:
- RTMP URL: Paste your RTMP URL (it already includes credentials)
- Stream Name/Key: Paste your Stream Key
- Save the configuration
Recommended quality
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Resolution | 1920×1080 (or 1280×720 on limited networks) |
| Bitrate | 3,000 – 5,000 Kbps |
| Framerate | 30 fps |
| Codec | H.264 |
Field tip: In areas with limited coverage, drop to 720p and 2,000-3,000 Kbps. Stability matters more than resolution.
Step 3: Start streaming
- Connect your camera to the LiveU via HDMI (or SDI depending on the model)
- Turn on the LiveU and wait for a stable connection (green LEDs)
- From the solo.liveu.tv portal or the app, press "Start"
- Verify in your XtreamCast panel that the channel shows "Live"
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Won't connect to the server | Check the RTMP URL and the Stream Key. Confirm the LiveU has internet access. |
| Unstable stream | Lower the bitrate. Add more SIM cards or WiFi sources. |
| High latency | Lower the resolution to improve latency. |
| Red LED | Connection error. Restart the LiveU and check the SIM cards. |
